Classic burger

A cinematic photograph of a succulent classic cheeseburger, evoking nostalgia, captured in vibrant color and tantalizing detail. A juicy beef patty, slightly charred and glistening with savory moisture, leftovers between a soft, toasted brioche bun, adorned with crunchy lettuce, thin slices of ripe tomato, and a generous layer of creamy, melted cheddar cheese. Aesthetic inspiration drawn from retro diner ads, with warm, golden tones and subtle contrast, evoking a sense of comfort food indulgence, against a subtle, gradient background of burnt orange and creamy whites.

Ingredients:

For the burger patties:

  • 500 g minced beef (preferably with a fat content of approx. 20%)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or 1 chopped onion for additional flavour

To serve:

  • 4 hamburger buns, sliced and lightly toasted
  • 4 slices of cheese (e.g. Cheddar or Gouda), optional
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • onion rings
  • Pickled gherkin slices
  • Ketchup, mustard and/or mayonnaise

Directions:

  1. Form burger patties:

    • Place the ground beef in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper and optionally Worcestershire sauce or chopped onion. Mix everything well, but do not work the meat too much to keep it loose.
    • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form each portion into a patty. Gently press the center of the patties to ensure they remain flat when grilling or frying.
  2. Fry or grill patties:

    • Preheat a skillet to medium-high heat or prepare the grill. Add the patties and fry or grill to desired doneness. For medium, about 3-4 minutes per side.
    • If you want cheese on your burgers, place a slice of cheese on each patty about 1 minute before it is done cooking to allow the cheese to melt.
  3. Assemble the burger:

    • Spread ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise on the bottom halves of the buns. Then top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cucumbers.
    • Place the finished patties on the vegetables and finish with the top half of the bun.
  4. Serve:

    • Serve the burgers immediately while they are still hot. Serve with sides such as French fries or a salad.

Tip: You can customize the ingredients for the burgers as you like. Experiment with different sauces, cheeses or additional vegetables like avocado or fried mushrooms to create your perfect burger.

Bon appetit!
