- Carbohydrates: approx. 40-60g
Ingredients:
For the burger patties:
- 500 g minced beef (preferably with a fat content of approx. 20%)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or 1 chopped onion for additional flavour
To serve:
- 4 hamburger buns, sliced and lightly toasted
- 4 slices of cheese (e.g. Cheddar or Gouda), optional
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- onion rings
- Pickled gherkin slices
- Ketchup, mustard and/or mayonnaise
Directions:
-
Form burger patties:
- Place the ground beef in a bowl. Season with salt, pepper and optionally Worcestershire sauce or chopped onion. Mix everything well, but do not work the meat too much to keep it loose.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form each portion into a patty. Gently press the center of the patties to ensure they remain flat when grilling or frying.
-
Fry or grill patties:
- Preheat a skillet to medium-high heat or prepare the grill. Add the patties and fry or grill to desired doneness. For medium, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- If you want cheese on your burgers, place a slice of cheese on each patty about 1 minute before it is done cooking to allow the cheese to melt.
-
Assemble the burger:
- Spread ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise on the bottom halves of the buns. Then top with lettuce, tomatoes, onions and cucumbers.
- Place the finished patties on the vegetables and finish with the top half of the bun.
-
Serve:
- Serve the burgers immediately while they are still hot. Serve with sides such as French fries or a salad.
Tip: You can customize the ingredients for the burgers as you like. Experiment with different sauces, cheeses or additional vegetables like avocado or fried mushrooms to create your perfect burger.
